Bringing our skills to entertainment and children's digital productions.
We've recently expanded what we do. We're making a move into entertainment and children's digital productions. We bring our production skills and content rigour in education and learning fields to projects that blur the boundaries of media formats; and these make great entertainment experiences.
One example is Legacy, a cross-platform project for the BBC that combines a radio drama with a soundscape puzzle game. Players are dropped into an audio-rich game scenario that's intrinsically connected to the story and characters in the radio drama, which sees two original episodes broadcast in the crime and sci-fi slot on BBC Radio 7.
Behind the scenes, we've been experimenting with mobile apps, Facebook-based social games and seeding drama narratives in YouTube, collaborating on ideas with radio, TV and mobile content makers. As digital media consumption evolves, we want to deliver really compelling cross-platform content in these spaces.

An example of our collaborative approach to cross-platform innovation is a project for Orange's 'Orange Wednesdays' film promotion campaign that we developed with our friends IMP Media. We developed an online app that allows you to create your own MovieMe character and let other people see how a film made you feel. Or, if you can't decide what to watch you can just pop into one of the screens and see what other movie-goers have been saying. Simple, fun and effective.
A lot of the influence for these developments comes from our understanding of how to appeal to children and teenagers. In addition to our more 'educational' titles for children, such as BBC jam's Life Quest, we've developed prototype games for the BBC Children's team. We've also had almost too much fun making monkey games.
