Skillswise
Summary
BBC Skillswise is one of the BBC's most successful and long running education campaigns. It offers the 'Skills for Life' tutor community, a comprehensive and developmental website of learning resources and games to support adult learners as they develop numeracy and literacy skills.
Project Aims
To develop interesting and engaging literacy and numeracy resources from Entry 3 to
Level 2.
What we did
We have been developing resources for BBC Skillswise since 2003. This is testament to our ability to develop Basic Skills resources that are relevant to learners UK wide.
We created the majority of the games and interactive learning resources for the Skillswise website, as well as providing content for interactive quizzes, fact sheets and worksheets that make up the service. The site covers the adult numeracy and literacy curriculum at a range of levels from Entry 3 to Level 2.
We work closely with the BBC to respond to the needs of tutors and trainers who work with adult basic skills learners who are able to communicate directly with the BBC production team via an accompanying online message board. Priorities for the service and ideas for content are shared and discussed with the users of the service before entering into production.
We provide the BBC with high quality Flash production coupled with the ability to combine gaming and interactive techniques, successfully integrated with educationally sound content.
