
Prior to joining DESQ, Emma was project co-ordinator at the Learning and Skills Council, South Yorkshire and at Sheffield Training and Enterprise Council. She has been involved in managing and co-ordinating ICT and Business Start-Up projects and has a degree in Business Studies.
Emma joined DESQ in 2001, as an Assistant Producer, and was involved in producing the BE Books series for the UFI as well as the early BBC Skillswise projects. She also set up internal systems for managing and monitoring our projects from a budgeting and financial perspective.
As we grew, it became apparent that we needed more help with the day to day running of the company's finances and Emma stepped up to the challenge, making the role of finance, HR and office manager her own. She is now in charge of setting company targets, preparing management accounts and reports, managing the company cashflow and paying our wages.
In addition to her financial duties, Emma is also our HR Manager, covering a wide range of personnel duties. In her spare time, you’ll tend to find Ems in her outdoor gear, donning her crampons and ice-axe and clinging to the side of a mountain.
