We are regularly commissioned to produce digital learning materials that comply with the Disability Discrimination Act and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001. We closely follow guidelines from the RNIB, TechDis and the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative. Our understanding of full accessibility is that it should enable full usability, regardless of disability.
We regularly develop accessible solutions for users with specialist requirements, including keyboard-only navigation systems, custom tab orders, screen reader tagging and optimised screen layout for magnifying devices. In addition to our W3C compliant (X)HTML development systems, we've developed a Flash based development framework that allows us to create robust accessible Flash resources.
Many of our projects include user testing with learners requiring accessibility features. Through this, we have observed first-hand the frustrations and difficulties that can arise for assistive technology users who are not adequately considered.
Our belief that accessibility should be intrinsic borders on the passionate; such that accessibility is built into our approach to development at every level.
